safety

At Fyfe our priority for health and safety at every level of our business operations is reflected in our outstanding safety record.

Safety Overview

Fyfe are proud of the many safety milestones and awards received since first beginning operations for Santos in the Cooper Basin, 1995.

Our safety goals are to:

  • Develop a culture that encourages personnel to engage with safety at every level
  • Foster a proactive approach to managing a sound and effective safety performance
  • Provide healthy, safe and secure workplaces
  • Reduce safety risks to as low as reasonably practicable.

Safety requirements, incorporated in the company Management System, comply with:

  • AS/NZ 4801
  • Work Health and Safety Act 2011
  • Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004 (Qld)
  • Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 (SA)
  • Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Regulations 2000 (SA).

Santos - Safety Award

As part of our operations in the Cooper Basin (since 1995) Fyfe employees have driven long distances off road, often before any construction onsite has commenced. Being alone and the first to visit these remote areas has a requirement to exhibit care and competency for safety and the environment. Testamount to Fyfe’s measure of care and competency for safety, Fyfe have not recorded an LTI since our operations in the Cooper Basin.

The effectiveness of our environmental procedures has also been subjected to successful environmental audit for our work on the location of well leases and the route selection of pipelines.

WorleyParsons - Safety Milestone

On the 1st of March 2012 Fyfe received the WorleyParsons Safety Milestone Award.
